Skiing in North America

Spread the love

If you prefer to take your vacations somewhere a little colder, you probably would love to visit some of the best ski resorts in North America. Not only are the sights breathtaking, the skiing in many of these locations is nearly Olympic in calibre – in fact, many hills have, at one point or another, been used for the Winter Olympics. And while many will flock to the Alps and claim that area as tops for skiing, you will find some great options within a few scant hours’ flight or drive from your home.

Aspen, Colorado is a great place to go, if you want to rub elbows with the rich and famous while on the ski slope. This Rocky Mountain getaway is popular with many Americans, who want the best skiing, right at home.

Mont Tremblant, Quebec is a chance for many to experience a little piece of Europe, right here in North America. A high quality ski hill in its own right, Mont Tremblant’s francophone atmosphere makes it feel like a foreign vacation destination.

Stowe, Vermont is a great choice for people who want to stay on the East coast, but still want some quality hills. The snow falls thick here, making for some great ski runs.

Lake Louise, Alberta offers some of the most spectacular scenery in the Rocky Mountains. Located very close to Calgary’s international airport, it is incredibly easy to get to this parade on the edge of the prairies.

Whistler, British Columbia is seen by many to be one of the top resorts in the world, not just North America. Host of many of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic events, this resort is must be experienced at least once if you are a serious ski buff. But no matter which of these resorts you choose, you will experience skiing like you have never imagined, and beauty that is unparalleled in any part of the world.
