The Microbrewery with an Altitude
The Mt. Hood Brewing Co.'s family-style pub is located in the Village of Government Camp, Oregon, at the 4000 ft. level on the south slope of Mt. Hood, the Oregon Cascade Mountain Range's highest peak. The restaurant and brewery share space in a "Cascadian" stone and timber lodge, and brewing activities can be viewed from the comfort of the restaurant and bar seating. The building that houses the pub was originally a ski rental, gift shop and cafeteria business that flourished in the 1960's and 70's. Take note of the unique flagstone walls quarried from an ancient lake bed in Oregon's High Desert; relax in the warm glow of knotty pine and spruce interior, and enjoy the decor of fishing prints, paraphernalia and carvings.
Families and groups will feel welcome, and the menu has many hearty and wholesome choices for hungry travelers and outdoor enthusiasts. Children's Menu and highchairs are available. Pizza, pasta dishes, steak, and seafoods are among the popular menu items. Espresso drinks, Oregon wines, dessert, and of course, the freshly brewed ales of the Mt. Hood Brewing Co. round out the selections. In addition to the finely crafted ales produced at the Mt. Hood Brewing Co., children and adults alike will be delighted to discover Snowbarger's Old Fashioned Draft Root Beer created by the brewers on tap.Smoking is not permitted; the pub is fully ADA compliant. A popular 'beer garden' is set up in the summer time for outdoor seating.
Beer is available to go in kegs or ½ gallon-sized growlers. Retail goods including glassware, coasters, shirts, caps and jackets, and other collectibles are offered for sale in the Pub. Call or e-mail for more information regarding live music, group tours of the brewery, group sales for special parties, or special events.
