Rich In History...
Fern Hall's history is unique. The land of Fern Hall was granted to Samuel Meredith, the first Treasurer of the United States. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania was the seller for five shillings and the deal was handled by Benjamin Franklin. In the 1820s the family of Sylvester Johnson, farmers from Connecticut, purchased the land and settled here on Crystal Lake. Three of the offspring, James, Robert and Edward Mead went on to found the Johnson & Johnson Company of Pharmaceutical fame. In 1916 James built his family retreat known as Fern Hall.

Today, Fern Hall is home to our restaurant, Bed & Breakfast, and the Clubhouse of Scottish Glen, a scenic nine-hole daily fee golf course.
The main residence, and the boat house on the shores of Crystal Lake, is the perfect locale for special events, weddings, graduations, corporate retreats, family outings, film shoots, dinner, Sunday brunch or just a relaxing getaway. Private Family Suite available for up to five.

Things To Know
For the comfort of all of our guests, we are a smoke free and pet free environment. Any damages or policy violations will be subject to additional fees charged to the securing credit card. All guests assume responsibility for personal belongings. Guest use of our facility is at your own risk. Children under 12 yrs. must be accompanied by an adult, and supervised in all common areas. Phone, Internet, and television are available in our common areas. We provide Bar, Beverage and Food Services. Special requests stocked upon advance notice. Due to PA Commonwealth laws and liability we request guests do not bring alcoholic beverages. Guests are welcome to invite friends to join them for dinner, brunch, wine and cheese tasting or to visit for a drink by our fireplace, patios, boathouse and gardens. Food and Beverage Services available during normal hours of operation or by arrangement for other times. Larger events/gatherings may be arranged with our event coordinator.
Ski & Stay Packages
Discounted Lift Tickets to Elk Mountain are available through our Ski & Stay Package. Package must be reserved at time of booking to insure ticket availability. Additional discount tickets may be available for purchase, but not guaranteed.

| Cancelation Policies |

We realize that sometimes cancellations are unavoidable. Due to the nature of our business, and our small size, cancellations must be made 21 days prior to check in date. Cancellations made in fewer than 21 days of check in date will be subject to loss of payment. Canceled reservations that are re-booked will receive a cancellation credit at time of re-booked reservation. Cancellations made prior to 21 days will incur no fee. Cancellations will not be accepted for Holiday reservations. Cancellations must be made by phone. Cancellations by email or fax will not be honored and will be subject to fees. Cancellations due to inclement weather will be subject to standard cancellation policy. Early checkout is subject to cancellation fees.

Guests may check in between the hours of 2 pm - 7pm. If earlier or later check in is required, arrangements may be made at time of reservation and dependant on availability.
